ALEXANDRIA, Va. — NCUA Vice Chairman Rodney E. Hood has been appointed to serve on the FCC's Advisory Committee on Diversity for Communications in the Digital Age.
The committee's objective is to bolster and continue needed services to the American people with an eye toward diversity and create an environment where all Americans have the opportunity to participate in the communications industry.
The Diversity Committee is being established to ensure that the FCC regulates the communications industry in a manner consistent with its goals under the Communications Act of making "available, so far as possible, to all people of the United States, without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex, a rapid, efficient, Nation-wide wire and radio service…"
