KAILUA, Hawaii — WesCorp recently teamed up with Windward Community Federal Credit Union here to host another edition of Operation Best Wishes.

Operation Best Wishes, created by WesCorp three years ago, allows family members to record messages to their loved ones serving in the military overseas. The messages can be viewed live and are also stored online at www.operationbestwishes.com.

A second day of broadcasting was added to the Windward stop, located on the base, to handle the volume of families expected. WesCorp Director of Public Relations Walter Laskos said approximately 50 families will participate.

"The main reason we're doing this is to put a smile on their faces. We're happy to host. At any given time, we have a lot of Marines from this base serving overseas," said Don Miles, CEO of Windward Community. "WesCorp did all of the operational set-up, so we owe them a big thanks."

Windward was created in 1953 to serve the Marines stationed at the Kailua base on Oahu. In 1981 it opened up to a community charter to serve the windward side of the island.

Operation Best Wishes had drawn media coverage at just about every stop. The Hawaii edition received front-page treatment in The Honolulu Star Bulletin and was covered by the local Fox television network.
