WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — The "Real Solutions" program of Filene Research Center aimed at elevating interest of credit unions and state leagues in reaching the underserved with new products picked up momentum recently with a special all-day seminar coupled with the addition of the Kansas Credit Union Association to the coalition.
There are now five state leagues–Wisconsin, Ohio, Maryland, Missouri and Kansas–that are part of the two-year-old Real Solutions package, which, in particular, promotes payday alternatives, financial literacy and minority aid through CUs.
The Oct. 25 seminar in this southern Wisconsin community sponsored by the Wisconsin Credit Union League was slated to turn out the largest number yet of CU participants joined by minority leaders from a broad spectrum of statewide organizations.
