ORLANDO, Fla. — Kevin Song has been hired as the new vice president of business lending at FAIRWINDS Credit Union.

Song's role at the $1.3 billion credit union will be driving strategic alignment of market position, commercial loan and deposit growth and product development, the credit union said.

He brings more than 10 years of management experience and six years in the financial industry to the credit union. He previously worked at Fifth Third Bank, Bank of America, and has served as a sales and service coach at 16 banking centers.

FAIRWINDS has been adding staff to bolster its business services and lending presence in the Orlando marketplace. It recently hired Laura Mondello as its new senior vice president of business services.

Continuing with its goal of opening more branches, the credit union signed an agreement on Oct. 1 to acquire two of Florida Central Credit Union's branches. The credit union will now serve Universal Orlando Resort employees. FAIRWINDS' strategic growth plan calls for the addition of 10 branches each year until 2008, for a total of 50.
