Searles Lake Community Federal Credit Union, Ridgecrest, Calif., recently broke ground and began construction on its new corporate branch. Ridgecrest community leaders, CU staff, board members and credit union members all attended the groundbreaking. The new branch will sit on a 59,993 square-foot parcel and is expected to open in June 2007. The Addington Partnership designed the 8,201 square-foot building and the general contractor is South Bay EDC. Educational Community Credit Union, Kalamazoo, Mich., recently held the grand opening of its new full-time office. The grand opening was marked by the cutting of a ceremonial ribbon of dollar bills that was presented to the Grand Rapids Public Schools. Celebration festivities during grand opening week included games, prizes and free hot dogs. EECU's new 2,800 square foot full-time, full-service office features four teller stations, night depository and a 24-hour ATM. Service Plus Credit Union, Moreno Valley, Calif., recently celebrated the ground breaking of its second branch in Moreno Valley. Scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2006, the full service branch will occupy a newly built 3,500 square foot facility. The branch will offer a full staff of tellers and member consultants, as well as member Internet account access, and a kiosk of three ATMs.
