ALEXANDRIA, Va. — NCUA was forced to postpone its Small Credit Union Workshop that was scheduled for Oct. 14 in Buffalo, N.Y. due to a record snow that fell in the area prior to the event. The agency plans to notify affected credit unions and resend registration materials once the event has been rescheduled. According to www.weather.com, a total of approximately two feet blanketed the Buffalo area, with the 8.6 inches that fell on Oct. 12 setting a record as the "snowiest" October day in Buffalo in the 137 years of the weather service.
In the meantime, NCUA announced that its Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives would conduct a credit union workshop on Nov. 18, 2006 in East Elmhurst, N.Y. with NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland as the guest speaker and another Dec. 9, 2006 in Peabody, Maine.
