MADISON, Wis. — CUNA Mutual Group is conducting a series of free Webinars for credit unions to learn how the Pension Protection Act of 2006 will affect them.

The Webinars will be held in two parts: part 1 will focus on the defined contribution and non-defined benefits plans and the provisions that have the greatest impact on benefits; and part 2 will focus on the impact on defined benefit plans. Part 1 Webinars will be held Oct. 31 and Nov. 6, and part 2 Webinars will be Nov. 1 and Nov. 7. All begin at 10 a.m. Central Time.

"This new legislation will directly affect credit unions in their role as a benefits manager or plan administrator," said Sharon Severson, director, pension client services for CUNA Mutual. "The Webinars will review the key elements of the Act and provide participants with a road map of the short- and long-term implications and a timeline for when they need to take action," she said.
