SACRAMENTO, Calif. — For many low-income families, everyday, basic items are hard to come by.

The $1 billion Pacific Service Credit Union is helping with those essentials by providing a $5,000 grant for the creation of a new program at the Child and Family Opportunity Center, called "The Community Store." The center operates under the direction of the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Sacramento, Inc. to serve low-income, "at-risk" families in the Sacramento area.

The Community Store will stock household necessities that many low-income families do without, such as personal hygiene products, cleaning products, baby formula, diapers and school supplies. The grant money from Pacific Service CU will be used by CAPC to stock the store.
