SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Empire Federal Credit Union and Cayuga County School Employees Federal Credit Union have brought new meaning to the word cooperative.

The two credit unions have formed a special partnership for a branch "timeshare" of sorts. Empire FCU will share Cayuga County EFCU's branch at 2 Easterly Ave in Auburn.

Located near the courthouse in downtown Auburn, the branch is convenient for the 2,500 Empire members that live in the Auburn area. From 3-6 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays Empire FCU staffers will be able to process limited transactions, open new accounts and take loan applications.

"This partnership has benefits for both credit unions," said Empire FCU Sales Director Jim Reynolds. "It allows us to serve Empire members who live or work in Auburn, and it allows Cayuga County EFCU to utilize some of our resources, like our marketing department."
