SAN DIEGO — A fitness challenge has been issued and now it’s up to Cabrillo Credit Union staffers to lace up their sneakers and run with it. As part of its goal to provide a healthy work environment Cabrillo CU is supporting and partially sponsoring staff in Kaiser Permanente’s Get Fit Training Program from Sept. 1 thru Oct. 27. Get Fit involves a health assessment, planned activities for all participants, an eight-week 24 Hour Fitness(R) membership, and a 5K training program led by Olympian Jeff Galloway. To celebrate the wrap up of the program staffers will participate in a 5K corporate run/walk and picnic. So far 30% of Cabrillo staff members are participating in the program. Awards will be handed out for highest level of company participation, the “most fit” company, and the best team spirit. “The ‘team’ aspect of this program was appealing to us,” said Senior Vice President of Human Resources Anne McClure. “Our staff is tight-knit and they will motivate each other to succeed; this benefits everyone.”
