OKLAHOMA CITY — After a hard week of work at the Department of Homeland Security, members of Credit Union One of Oklahoma can come into the credit union on Fridays to get a special snack.
Every Friday Credit Union One has popcorn or snow cones in its branches for members, according to Marketing Officer Ralph Cornelius. "We like to give back to our members anyway we can show our gratitude," he said. The credit union finds it strengthens the personal relationship with their members and differentiates them from the banks up the street.
In addition to Fridays, the credit union also holds cook outs about once a month over the summer and plays it by ear the rest of the year. Members can also enter their names there in a drawing for a putting competition to win $50. Events are advertised to the members via their Web site (www.creditunionone.org), branch posters, and in newsletters.
