MADISON, Wis. — Credit unions preparing for International Credit Union Day will have plenty to choose from on CUNA's Web site.
The ICU Day Web pages containing this year's artwork, along with educational and promotional materials are now available.
"The very first credit union came into existence more than 150 years ago to help members to democratically control their financial futures," said Dan Mica, CUNA president/CEO. "This year's International Credit Union Day will focus on the credit union history, traditions, and achievements that have occurred since that time in order to expand the availability of credit unions to the more than 157 million current members worldwide."

"Credit Unions Making a World of Difference" was selected as the official theme for this year's ICU Day, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 19.
The theme, voted on via an online poll on the World Council of Credit Union's Web site, was created to focus on all the different ways that credit unions are making a difference among the more than 157 million members belonging to over 42,000 credit unions in 92 countries.
Free planning resources available online include credit union statistics, sample newsletter articles and letters to the editor, various marketing ideas, and official artwork and graphics. Affiliated credit unions will also receive a full color poster, which includes this year's theme and graphics, and a brochure of promotional materials, by mail.
Credit unions are also encouraged to submit their celebration suggestions to CUNA to help other credit unions generate ideas.
