The Arizona Credit Union League, Phoenix, Ariz., has named Linda Dhaemers, president/CEO of Desert Energy Federal Credit Union, as the Very Outstanding Credit Union Person (VOCUP). The VOCUP Award is given to recognize a living person based on the recipient’s involvement in credit union, chapter and league activities to further the credit union movement in Arizona. Dhaemers has served on the Arizona Credit Union League board since 1997 and was recently elected chairman. She served on the board of First Corporate Credit Union for many years and in 2000 was elected to the Arizona Credit Union Foundation board, currently serving as secretary. She has served on numerous committees and was the first co-chair of Arizona’s Credit Unions for Kids steering committee helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the two children’s hospitals in Arizona.
