Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, Lowell, Mass., recently recognized Anne-Marie Bisson, a coordinator for youth services and community outreach programs for the CU, with the “President’s Award” at the CU’s annual Employee Town Meeting. A credit union employee for 16 years, Bisson’s responsibilities include overseeing the JDCU scholarship program and conducting education seminars, classes and programs such as Junior Achievement at Lowell High School, Citizens School’s after-school program, the National Endowment for Financial Education, the JDCU Bank-at-School Program, and the Lowell Public School’s 21st Century Grant Program. The President’s Award is given every year. OMNI Community Credit Union, Battle Creek, Mich., has announced that George Trusock and Dick Derks have successfully completed all the requirements and conditions for the Dora Maxwell Award. The award is presented to Trusock and Derks for completing 42 Volunteer Achievement Program Home Study Education Modules. Three of the modules that Derks completed also earned him the Credit Union Leadership Award. Teachers Federal Credit Union, Farmingville, N.Y., has been honored with the Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award. The award, sponsored by the New York State CU League and CUNA, recognizes leadership on behalf of youth financial literacy. The award was presented to TFCU for activities supporting the personal finance education of young members and nonmembers. TFCU has won this statewide award three out of the past four years.
