LAS VEGAS – For its support of small businesses in Nevada, Community One Federal Credit Union was recently honored by the Small Business Administration with its Freedom Award.
The award is SBA's small business community service award for "outstanding support" of Nevada's small businesses in partnership with the agency for 2005, according to NuUnion. The $170 million credit union was among a group of eight organizations and lending institutions recognized for their efforts at SBA-Nevada region's annual luncheon.
As of April 2006, Community One had $9.3 million in member business loans and more than $884,000 in SBA loans. It also had $9.7 million in loan participations. On the business deposit side, it had nearly $1 million in business checking and more than
