BEAVERTON, Ore. – The Credit Union Association of Oregon has hired Laura Wieking as manager of communications. Wieking comes to CUAO from the Pear Bureau Northwest, a nonprofit marketing association for fresh pears grown in Oregon and Washington. Her responsibilities at the bureau ranged from industry and consumer newsletters and Web sites to media outreach and developing consumer education programs. She holds a bahelor of arts degree in public relations fron Central Washington University and prior to her bureau job she worked for several high-tech companies in Oregon and Washington in both internal and external communication capacities.
