In response to Editor-in-Chief Paul Gentile’s article “Credit Unions Value the Convenience of Going to Core Processor for More Products,” which appeared in the May 10 issue, let me note that making things convenient for our customers is the ultimate goal for any credit union vendor. However, as technology becomes more and more complicated, it is virtually impossible for a core processor to satisfy the many and divergent needs of their credit union customers and do it well. Often, it seems that just keeping up with their main competency is a daunting task. As a third-party provider, we bring a unique expertise and an ongoing commitment to our specialty, which benefits both credit unions and their core processors. We are in complete agreement that a close relationship between the third-party vendor and the core processor is essential for a successful partnership that benefits all parties. A key element in maintaining this relationship is making certain that third-party products seamlessly integrate with the core processor to truly provide a “Best of Breed” solution. In that way, core processors can concentrate on their main competency and we both get a satisfied customer. Chuck Klein CEO Integrated Media Management Linden, N.J.
