HARRISBURG, Pa. – During its recent Annual Convention and Exposition in Atlantic City, N.J., the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association presented its William W. Pratt Lifetime Achievement Award for the Credit Union Professional of the Year to Keystone Federal Credit Union Executive Vice President Christine Woods. The annual award is presented in memory of William W. Pratt, who for more than three decades worked on behalf of credit unions. When Pratt began working at the association in 1942, there were 550 credit unions in Pennsylvania – when he retired in 1965, there were nearly 1,300 credit unions.
Woods was nominated by New Visions Community FCU Wyomissing, where she served as president/CEO since 1998. She was appointed to executive vice president of Keystone in September 2005. Prior to joining New Visions, Woods was operations supervisor for Hershey FCU.
Woods was honored for her "understanding of what credit unions are all about, involvement in the credit union movement, and caring about the future of credit unions."
