I would like to thank Editor-in-Chief Paul Gentile for his April 5 column on House, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Bill Thomas. That really needed to be said and it was said well. Thomas has been in the banker camp for quite some time and should not speak of objectivity. He is about as biased in favor of banks and against credit unions as they come. And, it is altogether possible that his latest challenge to NCUA might be seen as intimidation or jawboning in order to influence NCUA’s evaluation of credit union service. I wouldn’t go so far as to share Gentile’s opinion that Thomas was objective prior to this incident. The consuming public does not need Thomas’ “objectivity.” Bob Street CEO America First CU La Habra, Calif.
