SAN JOSE, Calif. - When Judy Nissila began her career at San Jose Credit Union in 1981, there were just 5,000 members, $5 million in assets, and there were no checking accounts, Visa debit or credit cards, IRAs, or mortgage loans available. Things have definitely changed in the 25 years Nissila has be with SJCU. The CU assets have grown to over $116 million and there are now over 11,400 members. Nissila has always kept the CU on the leading edge of technology with a clear vision for the future. "Judy is the ultimate leader, mentor and role model," says SJCU Vice President Cathy McCarthy, who has worked with Judy since 1984. "She is a very hands on president, even stepping in as a receptionist or teller when needed. She has such an incredible energy, I think she may have invented multitasking!" Nissila's last day as the president of SJCU will be April 15.
