SEATTLE – The $1.1 billion Washington State Employees Credit Union has joined Member Access Pacific's KeyCorp ATM network in a bid to offer its members surcharge-free access to more ATMs. The move will add 400 surcharge-free ATMs to the list that WSECU's 135,000 members can use. "The recent changes regarding ATM networks have placed new pressures on surcharge-free access in Washington State," said Cyndie Martini, CEO of Member Access Pacific. "As we see these competitive pressures unfold, it is our job to provide our clients and partners with premium services like surcharge-free ATM access for their members." Ann Flannigan, a vice president with WSECU, said the CU is a CO-OP Network member and is satisfied with that relationship but wanted to add more machines for their members to use. "These are not deposit taking machines or really anything more than cash dispensing ATMs," she said. "This is really just about convenience." KeyCorp charges participating CUs a fee for providing the surcharge-free access, which is based in part on the CU's volume of ATM transactions.
