WASHINGTON – According to lobbying disclosure filings made with the U.S. Congress, the Washington D.C. firm of Butera and Andrews made at least $40,000 from Community Credit Union in 2005 and the firm of Bracewell and Giuliani made at least $20,000 from OmniAmerican. Both firms hired lobbyists in 2005 to help them win their fight with NCUA over whether their charter conversion ballots were valid. Butera and Andrews has also filed papers indicating it has taken on the $1.8 billion DFCU Financial Credit Union as a client. The firm will not have to report what the credit union may have paid for its services until the end of June.
