MADISON, Wis. -MEMBERS Capital Advisors, a subsidiary of CUNA Mutual Group, has hired two new investment managers. Livia Asher has been hired as a senior investment officer to manage the MEMBERS Mid Cap Value Fund within MEMBERS Mutual Funds and to serve as the analyst for stocks in the nonbank financial sector. Her previous experience includes portfolio management and analysis at Allianz of America and Merrill Lynch. Prior to that, she served as an officer and investment analyst for Merrill Lynch; Fox-Pitt, Kelton; First Boston; and Mitsubishi Trust & Banking, all in New York. Bruce Ebel also joins the affiliate as lead portfolio manager of the MEMBERS Mutual Funds Large Cap Growth Fund. He most recently worked as managing director at Chicago-based LIFEPOINT Financial Consultants, Inc. Ebel started as an equity analyst for First Chicago and then moved to Kemper Financial Services, where he managed the Kemper Growth Fund. He was also associate director of research, and managed institutional accounts and worked at Chicago-based Loomis Sayles, LLC, as institutional core equity portfolio manager, and at State Street Research in Boston as senior vice president and equity portfolio manager, where he managed $12 billion in institutional equity assets. Both managers "have unparalleled reputations and performance records," said David Marks, president of MEMBERS Capital and chief investment officer of CUNA Mutual Group. "We've brought them on board to further strengthen capabilities in our mutual fund line, underscoring MEMBERS Mutual Funds' commitment to and focus on improving portfolio returns for our clients." Four mutual funds in the nine-fund family were recently renamed to reflect fund realignment, according to CUNA Mutual. Fund managers have also been realigned to enhance responsibility and accountability for each portfolio.
