Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union, Daleville, Ala., earned three silver and one bronze awards at the recent Southeast Alabama Advertising Federation's Addy Award Competition. The competition honors excellence in marketing and advertising. The CU's TV ad promoting online mortgage applications, the annual report to members, and a full-color print ad geared towards college students earned the silver Addys and a black and white ad honoring military members won the bronze. OnPoint Community Credit Union, Portland, Ore., for the second consecutive year, will serve as a major sponsor for Oregon Business' 2006 "100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon" dinner on March 2. Being a sponsor is reserved for a select group of employers who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to their employees by repeatedly appearing on this respected list, which OnPoint has done five consecutive times, climbing to the No. 3 ranking for large companies (250 employees) in 2004. OnPoint has also reached the list's top 10 for four consecutive years as of 2004, an accomplishment that, up to that point, was unprecedented. Allegacy Federal Credit Union, Winston-Salem, N.C., has won the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation's Jill Ireland Award for Voluntarism for its many efforts on behalf of the Komen North Carolina Triad Affiliate. Since 2003, Allegacy employees have participated in the local Komen Race for the Cure and the CU has served as one of two sponsors. Komen North Carolina Triad Affiliate also uses Allegacy's facilities for community volunteer orientations. A park that honors all breast cancer survivors, their families, and those who have lost their battle with the disease is located at the CU's headquarters. Komen North Carolina Triad Affiliate's new office will boast Allegacy's name in honor of their willingness to underwrite a portion of the cost. The Jill Ireland Award for Voluntarism honors the memory of actress Jill Ireland who died of breast cancer in 1990 and recognizes an individual and a corporation or organization that champion the Komen mission with the courage and optimism that Jill Ireland exemplified.
