NEW YORK – Credit unions and their members will now have access to a suite of information technology services through an expanded endorsement agreement between Newtek Business Services, Inc. and CUNA. The services include data storage backup, archival and retrieval services, Web site hosting, and Web site design and development services and were designed to be utilized by the CUs themselves and for sale to business and other members of the CUs needing such services, according to Newtek. There are 35 CU leagues representing approximately 6,155 CUs that use Newtek Business Services for SBA Lending and merchant processing, said Barry Sloane, Newtek chairman/CEO. The information technology offerings are the latest to be added to the suite "along with others that will be announced in the near future." The Newtek/CUNA endorsement alliance is a three-year deal.
