CEDAR PARK, Texas -United Heritage Credit Union has kicked off the grand opening of its Cedar Park branch by hosting a Community Day Event. Over 200 Cedar Park residents and United Heritage members were on hand to enjoy the festivities. With a focus on family, the Community Day Event was filled with activities that could be enjoyed by the whole family. Balloon artists and face painters entertained kids of all ages with their designs, the Cedar Park Fire Department gave children tours of a real fire truck, and Spike, the Round Rock Express Baseball Mascot also attended. In addition to the activities planned for the kids, United Heritage was registering guests for a chance to win $500 and organized a jelly bean guessing contest where the winner received a one-year family membership to the Twin Lakes Family YMCA valued at over $1,000. With all the free food, fun family activities and United Heritage giveaways, the Cedar Park branch was packed with residents and members enjoying the day despite some early morning downpours. The Cedar Park staff was hard at work as well, opening nine new accounts and completing 51 transactions. In addition, the Williamson County Humane Society was able to find new homes for two dogs; Cloud, a Chihuahua mix, and Dixie a Terrier mix. Other organizations on hand were the Round Rock Blood and Tissue Center, which was able to promote upcoming blood drives; and the Twin Lakes Family YMCA, which was able to sell five YMCA memberships and provide the grand prize for the jelly bean guessing contest. United Heritage has also launched a Grand Opening Special 60-Day Promotion to benefit local charities. For each new account opened between January 26 and March 31, United Heritage will donate $5 to the Cedar Park Fire Department, Twin Lakes Family YMCA, Williamson County Humane Society or the Round Rock Blood and Tissue Center. “We really wanted the Community Day Event to be a fun introduction to our new neighbors,” said Jenny Laudadio, director of marketing/community relations. “We are very excited to be able to give back to the community that has given us such a warm welcome by contributing funds to these local organizations.”
