WASHINGTON -House Financial Services Committee Chairman Michael Oxley (R-Ohio) and Ranking Member Barney Frank (D-Mass.) have notified Fannie Mae that the Committee intends to conduct an oversight hearing on the findings of a soon-to-be-finished report by former U.S. Sen. Warren Rudman on the internal controls, governance, accounting, capital, organization and staffing of the housing Government Sponsored Enterprise ordered by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprises Oversight in September 2004. In their letter to Fannie Mae Chairman Stephen Ashley, Oxley and Frank wrote that the purpose of the hearing "will be to fully inform the Committee about the findings, conclusions, and any recommendations contained in the Rudman Report." Rudman is currently with the firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
