LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. – Spokane Teachers Credit Union (STCU) is gearing up to serve North Idaho residents. STCU will build its 10th branch – the credit union’s first in Idaho – on a 57,200-square-foot parcel located one block west of Highway 41 in Post Falls, just north of Interstate 90. With thousands of STCU members living in North Idaho the strategic move is designed to help area members. “While we offer new and innovative products and services – such as our commercial and real estate loans, mortgages and indirect loans or our online teller,” said STCU President/CEO Steve Dahlstrom, “Our primary focus is the relationship we have with our members.” Dahlstrom adds that currently most North Idaho members have no choice but to access their accounts at the credit union’s Valley or Newport branches, online, or through other credit unions that offer shared branching. The branch will employ up to 15 people, most of them from North Idaho. “We are thrilled to join, and to contribute to, the Post Falls community,” said Paul Chalmers, STCU human resources vice president. “It is important to employ local folks – those people who live and do business here – as well as to participate in local philanthropic opportunities. We believe in corporate citizenship and giving back to the communities we serve. It’s a win-win opportunity.”
