SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Federal Credit Union (SACU) and Toyota Federal Credit Union (Toyota FCU) have recently broken ground on their shared branch facility located near the site of a new Toyota Motor Manufacturing plant being built in South Bexar County. Last March the two credit unions teamed up to serve the employees, vendors, suppliers and contractors at the new Toyota Motor Manufacturing location. SACU and Toyota FCU will work cooperatively in operating the location to provide full-service financial services for their respective members. SACU will provide complete financial products and services to current members as well as to all contractors and suppliers who work with Toyota. Toyota FCU will continue to provide financial services to Toyota employees, their dependents and retirees. “SACU is very pleased to share the dynamic development of credit union service in South Bexar County with Toyota Federal Credit Union,” SACU President/CEO Jeff Farver said. “Opening this shared branch will expand SACU’s branch network and allow us to better serve our members. Because of our geographical field of membership, residents who live, work and worship in this sector will have convenient access. This is a unique opportunity for credit unions to do what they do best – giving individual members what they want to meet their needs for full-service financial products and services.” Toyota FCU President/CEO Frank Dunst added, “Historically, credit unions have worked together for the common good of their memberships. Our goal is simply to help people. Through this partnership, we will reach and benefit more individuals and families than otherwise possible.” Construction on the SACU-Toyota FCU Branch is scheduled to begin early in 2006 and the branch is scheduled to be operational by the middle of the year.
