TAMPA. Fla. – MacDill Federal Credit Union's new corporate headquarters has been honored as the 2005 "Best of the Best" by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties Tampa Bay Chapter. The facility won in the category of Outstanding Office Building – Corporate Campus. Designed by local R.R. Simmons Construction Corporation, the $20 million, 140,000 square foot facility is set on 25 acres of land in the Crosstown Center. Amenities include a three-story parking garage, a fitness center and an employee lounge with a pool table and big-screen TVs. Currently some 240 employees work at the facility. "We are honored by the recognition our new international corporate headquarters has received," said MacDill FCU President/CEO Robert L. Fisher. "Our partners at R.R. Simmons have done an outstanding job. This facility provides us with a state-of-the-art work environment that will help attract top-notch employees and enhance our ability to meet the needs of our members." Plans are underway for the addition of two more buildings on the campus over the next 20 years as growth and space demands dictate.
