MOLINE, Ill. -Since Deere & Company requested credit unions not directly affiliated with the company change their names to avoid consumer confusion, two of the three credit unions impacted have announced their name change. Effective January 1, 2006, Deere Harvester Credit Union will become DHCU Community CU and join other name change game players Waterloo, Iowa-based John Deere Community CU and Ottumwa, Iowa-based Deere Community FCU. Viewing the request as an "exciting opportunity," DHCU Community CU President/CEO Terry Brahm adds that the new name better reflects the membership it serves. Both JDCCU and Deere Community FCU announced they will become Veridian CU and Community 1st CU respectively in 2006.
