People’s Alliance Federal Credit Union, Hauppauge, N.Y., President/CEO Nicholas M. Lacetera has been honored by the Hauppauge Industrial Association (HIA). Lacetera was recognized for his outstanding contributions not only as a board member of the HIA, but also as an active member who has sponsored many events throughout the years. His passion for what he does is evident and the HIA was proud to have him as an honoree. HIA is a grass-roots, pro-active 26-year old business organization that focuses on the economic health and well-being of its member companies and that of the entire Long Island business community. MSU Federal Credit Union, East Lansing, Mich., has announced the winners of its new account/ComputerLine promotion. All new students who opened MSUFCU membership accounts before August 12, 2005 automatically received a $5 Spartan Bookstore gift card and were entered to win up to $3,000 in MSU tuition for this fall semester. As a bonus, if they opened their MSUFCU accounts online before August 12th, they were additionally entered to win an Apple iPod Mini. If that’s not enough, freshmen and transfer students who filled out an MSUFCU membership survey were automatically entered to win a free semester of books. The names drawn for all three prizes were random and conducted by the Internal Audit department. The winners are as follows: Annette Agemak, $3,000 MSUFCU tuition package; Susanna Cox, semester of books; and Regina Griffin-Jones Apple iPod mini. Global Credit Union, Spokane, Wash., has been presented the Army Distinguished Credit Union Service Award. The credit union was recognized for its commitment to providing quality products and efficient service to Soldiers, Department of Defense Employees and their family members. Global CU was previously recognized by the United States Air Force as its Best in the Air Force credit union. CES Credit Union, Mount Vernon, Ohio, has recently honored Vice President of Finance Barbara A. Butler for her 40 years of dedicated service. In 1965, Butler was only one of four employees working in the new building of the then-14 year-old credit union. Butler has served in various member service and managerial positions, including office manager and in her current position she is responsible for the financial reporting, accounting, ACH and human resource functions of the credit union. Chetco Federal Credit Union, Harbor, Ore., has named the winner of its Super Savings Program. This summer CFCU’s younger members had fun while learning the essential of saving money. Kindergarten student Micah Freitag was this year’s Super Saver winner of a brand new bicycle. Freitag is saving his money to buy a 4-wheeler so that he can keep up with his Dad on hunting trips. PARDA Credit Union, Auburn Hills, Mich., has awarded Terry Winchester from its Greenwood, South Carolina branch a vacation package as part of its membership drive raffle. Winchester is a quality technician for Goodrich and has been employed with them for three years. He and his wife Carolyn are planning in using PARDA’s vacation package for some alone time. In addition, a direct deposit promotion has resulted in Walter Woo walking away with a $100 Home Depot gift card. MCT Federal Credit Union, Gaithersburg, Md., 11 interns who worked at the credit union this summer were honored during the annual Academy of Finance “Pinning Ceremony” at Gaithersburg High School. This was more than double the number of MCT interns who were honored in 2004. Students each received pins from Montgomery County Public Schools commemorating completion of their internship assignments, which are part of a two-year Academy of Finance extracurricular educational program that helps train young people for careers in financial management. This year’s MCT interns honored include the following: Veronica Astormia, Lena Ouk, Candace DePass, Tim Geston, Kevin Wong, Patrick Mallen, Marc Ferguson, Marques Ducker, Justin Malcolm, Chingoun Baataryn, and Nicholas Roscher. Financial 21 Community Credit Union, San Diego, has named Community Relations Officer Melinda Collins Employee of the Quarter. She represents Financial 21 in a number of organizations and actively participates in Credit Union for Kids, American Cancer Society, and the Academy of Finance with San Diego High School.
