ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU is filling the openings left by three key attorneys in recent months. NAFCU had previously promoted Carrie Hunt to director of regulatory affairs following the departure of Gwen Baker. Now, NAFCU shifted its own compliance attorney, Pamela Yu, to Hunt’s former position, associate director of regulatory affairs. She previously worked for the United Mine Workers of America, practicing labor and employment law. While at George Mason University School of Law, she clerked for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission vice chair and at the D.C. Office of Administrative Hearings. NAFCU also made two new hires in its compliance department, adding Regulatory Compliance Counsels Lance Noggle and Sarah Loats in the last couple of weeks. Anthony Demangone had previously been elevated to director of compliance after Linda Dent left NAFCU for a job at FinCEN. Noggle joined NAFCU Nov. 9 after having worked at UBS Financial Services and Merrill Lynch. He is a graduate of the Fordham University School of Law in New York City and California State University, Fullerton, where he majored in economics and business. Noggle is actively working on an LL.M. in securities and financial regulation at the Georgetown University Law Center. Before law school, he served as a police officer in California for six years. Loats interned for NAFCU’s regulatory compliance and regulatory affairs divisions, as well as the general counsel’s office of a regional bank while in law school. Before attending law school, she worked as an editor and desktop publisher of financial and technical publications. Worldwide executive search firm Korn/Ferry International is in the process of helping to find a replacement for former General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Bill Donovan. He and Baker headed to D.C.-law firm Venable LLP Nov. 1. NAFCU plans to have someone new to run the department before the next session of Congress begins.
