WASHINGTON – Almost 100 golfers took to the links on Oct. 3 to raise money for the National Credit Union Foundation at the first Congressional and Invitational Golf Tournament in Alexandria, Virginia. CUNA and the NCUF sponsored the event which raised over $100,000 to support the credit union grant maker. "It was a great day of fun, golf and sunshine to benefit a great cause," said CUNA CEO Dan Mica. "The proceeds from this event will help the Foundation in its on-going efforts to enhance charitable, scientific and educational efforts in the field of consumer credit, with a particular emphasis on credit unions." Mica said that the event, which was held on a golf course frequented by most U.S. Presidents, will become an annual event.
