TAMPA, Fla. – Dale Schumacher was recently named Small Business Leader of the Year by the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce. Schumacher is president/CEO of $295 million Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union. This was the second year in a row Schumacher was nominated for the award. In addition, the credit union was also a semi-finalist in the Small Business of the Year awards. As a part of the application process, judges visited the credit union’s Ybor Heights branch and were given a walking tour and presentation by staff. Employees presented specific examples of how Schumacher’s leadership has impacted them both personally and professionally, the credit union said. In his acceptance speech, Schumacher had many “thanks” to offer including those to his family for standing by him and to the associates of Tampa Bay Federal for “making him look so good every day.”
