Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union, Fayetteville, N.C., has broken ground on its first off-post branch in more than 19 years. Located on Ramsey Street, the new full service branch is scheduled to open in mid-2006. The credit union also has plans to branch out to Raeford Road in early 2007. Unitus Community Credit Union, Portland, Ore., has broken ground on a Beaverton branch. The 4,300 square-foot full service facility will offer a complete line of financial products and services, including financial planning and feature self-serve deposit boxes that operate by a manual hand-scanning system and drive-through service. The branch is slated to open in spring of 2006. San Jose Credit Union, Calif., has broken ground for its approximately 2,500 square-foot state-of-the-art branch that will be located just a few steps away from the new San Jose City Hall and San Jose State University. Designed by Newark, California-based design/build firm Baker Construction Company, this new branch showcases a replica of the rotunda that landmarks the newly-built City Hall. This will be the CU’s second full-time branch and is slated to open by winter. Greater Cincinnati Credit Union, has celebrated the opening of its Mason-Montgomery branch. Weeklong celebrations included door prizes and a chance to win $1,000. Designed and built by DEI Incorporated, the 2,700 square-foot features high-tech plasma screens behind the teller line and the queue line, which display national headlines as well as Greater Cincinnati CU product information. A Tech Center offers two computer monitors where members can access their account information online or research products and services while a kids area is available to entertain children. Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, has cut the ribbon on its new service center in Uvalde, Texas. The new facility is more than double the size of the previous structure and offers expanded teller stations, drive-thru lanes, ATMs and other amenities for member convenience. To commemorate the opening, SSFCU made a $5,000 donation to the Uvalde Boys & Girls Club. Mazuma Credit Union, Kansas City, Mo., has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its latest branch in Lee’s Summit. The 6,100 square-foot full service facility will include a community room, self-service safe deposit boxes and four drive-through lanes. In addition, the CU plans to begin offering business services next year. Heritage Credit Union, Madison, Wis., has broken ground on a new Madison branch. The state-of-the-art facility will feature an expansive, open lobby and waiting area, teller area, private rooms for loan inquiries, an Internet Caf and four drive-through lanes. The 6,300 square foot facility is slated to be completed by January 2006. The Frank Lloyd Wright inspired design was created by design/build firm La Macchia Group. Redwood Credit Union, Santa Rosa, Calif., has opened the doors to a new, full service branch in Windsor. Located across from a Safeway Shopping Center, the 3,500 square-foot location features teller, new account, lending, investment and retirement services, safe deposit boxes, a walk-up ATM and a suite of services for both consumers and small business owners. Marion and Polk Schools Credit Union, Salem, Ore., has unveiled a new West Salem branch. The new branch offers amenities such as an extra drive-up lane and an ATM lane and easier access to the site. Five teller stations, three member service stations, and a kiosk are available. The building has the latest in ADA accessibility, including one teller station at a lower height for wheel chair access. The new branch was built by Dalke Construction on property leased from Dr. Jim Shelton, whose dental practice is located next to the branch site. First Community Credit Union, St. Louis, has opened the doors to its newest branch located in Eureka. The facility includes all of the amenities of a full service branch, including three drive-thru lanes and a 24-hour drive-up ATM. The credit union has donated the ribbon worth $260, to the pre-school at Eureka Elementary. The funds will go towards the purchase of educational materials, for the early education classes for kids under age five. Team One Credit Union, Saginaw, Mich., has opened a branch in a Bay City Wal-Mart Supercenter. The in-store full service branch is designed to reinforce the credit union’s image of offering convenient banking for members.First New York Federal Credit Union, Schenectady, N.Y., has opened its fifth full service branch. A weeklong grand opening celebration was held to introduce the CU to the Rotterdam community. HBE Financial Facilities, St. Louis, Mo., has been awarded three new construction projects to build credit unions in Illinois., Wisconsin., and South Carolina. The projects include Argonne CU for a state-of-the-art 23,600 facility, which will include a partial basement, four drive-up lanes, one drive-up ATM, six in-branch teller windows, a cash-safe deposit vault, a two-story atrium in the lobby, an employee lounge with a patio, a training room and a board room; Citizens First CU for a one-story 4,670 square-foot branch that will include a drive-up canopy with three kiosks and one ATM; and South Carolina FCU for a new 4,238 sq. ft. branch facility featuring four drive-up teller lanes, one drive-up ATM and a by-pass lane. Hiway Federal Credit Union, St. Paul, Minn., has hosted an open house for its new administrative headquarters. The need for an administrative building is in response to Hiway’s recent growth since expanding services to the Greater St. Paul Area. It is also an addition to the redevelopment of the Phalen Corridor in Saint Paul’s east side. DuPont Fibers Federal Credit Union, Richmond, Va., has held a groundbreaking ceremony for its fourth Member Center. Located in Shops at Stonehenge Shopping Center the new facility will be family-oriented with a concierge station to help direct members to the proper representative for service and include non-traditional teller spaces, a coffee bar, and a child’s play area.” The Member Center’s open and inviting design includes a retail display space. The Stonehenge Member Center will open early in 2006. Richmond’s Baskervill was the designer, and locally headquartered Kjellstron & Lee is the General Contractor. NuMark Credit Union, Joliet, Ill., has broken ground on its third full-service branch. Located in Crest Hill, the single-story, freestanding 6,000 square foot facility will have a brick and stone exterior, three drive-up lanes, and a 24-hour ATM machine. The new branch will feature a two-story atrium and will offer such amenities as a fireplace and a member refreshment area. The credit union’s mortgage lending department will also be housed at the new location to compliment the full-service and bi-lingual staff. PCM Employees Credit Union, DePere, Wis., has turned to Milwaukee based design/build firm La Macchia Group to complete the remodeling of its Packerland Drive branch. Located inside the Ameriprise Financial building the branch features a new teller line and dcor to maximize efficiency. PWCampbell, Pittsburgh, Pa., has announced it has secured a new contract for design/build services. The design/build firm has been tapped by Fairfax County Federal Credit Union for a branch renovation.
