MONMOUTH JUNCTION, N.J. – There is a new marketing director at New Jersey Gateway Federal Credit Union and her name is Patricia Darcey. With the recent granting of a community charter expanding the credit union's field of membership Darcey's appointment comes at the right time. Darcey is a veteran copywriter and financial services marketer who began her career in 1980 as marketing officer with National Community Bank, Maywood (now The Bank of New York). She remained in that post for more than nine years, after which she – along with her husband, Thomas – founded Darcey & Darcey Advertising and Public Relations in Riverdale. She served as partner and creative director for 17 years, writing, developing and overseeing the marketing programs for many financial institutions in New Jersey and New York. She sold the agency in 2004. A third-year undergraduate student at Ramapo College's School of Communication in Mahwah, N.J., Darcey has taught the fundamentals of advertising and writing effective advertising copy to fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students at the Gifted and Talented School in Glen Rock.
