LITTLETON, Colo. – A popular local Ken-Caryl Ranch Fall Fest served as the perfect forum for Johns Manville Credit Union to unveil its new name- Colorado CU- to over 15,000 attendees and the community at large. Colorado CU was the presenting sponsor of Fall Fest. Colorado CU was chartered in 1973 to serve Johns Manville employees and their families. “While 65% of our current membership came from Johns Manville, we realized that our potential for growth would come from those that live or work in the communities that surround our locations” said CCU President Mike Williams. “Our 2005 brand awareness survey showed that 60% of the respondents had heard of JMCU, but less than half of them realized they could bank here. We chose a new name that was welcoming and appealing to more people.” Under an inflated arch that sported a Colorado CU banner, staffers welcomed guests at the front entrance with smiles and maps that identified where various activities were located. No admission was charged at the family-style event that catered to kids with pony rides, rock wall climbing, life-size games, creative stations and giveaways from local businesses. Adults enjoyed the vintage car show, chair massages, festival food and running into friends and neighbors. In addition, attendees stopped by the Colorado CU station to enjoy complimentary ice cream bars, balloons and to pan for “gold”. Fall Festival is an annual event produced by the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District, Littleton, CO.
