WASHINGTON-Another two lawmakers joined the list of co-sponsors to the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act (H.R. 2317). Representatives Rosa L. DeLauro (D-Conn.) and John E. Sweeney (R-N.Y.) have signed on to CURIA, bringing total congressional supporters up to 98 at press time. The Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee held a hearing recently on overall regulatory relief in which CURIA co-sponsor Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) recommended in her opening remarks that CURIA's capital reforms and business lending provisions be adopted for H.R. 3505, the Financial Services Regulatory Relief Act.
