EAST CHICAGO, Ind. – A six-foot monkey has helped create quite a buzz about Advance Financial Federal Credit Union during the Mexican Independence Day parade here. According to CU execs attendees loved and welcomed AFFCU Kids' Club mascot “Moe” Monkey. The parade was the centerpiece of the weekend celebration and also highlighted the fact that September is National Hispanic Heritage Month. Moe Monkey, and his friends on the Advance Financial float were joined in the parade by approximately 100 entries, including floats; decorated vehicles; musicians; and riders on horseback, motorcycles and bikes. Thousands turned out to join in the parade and festivities that included a Mexican Kids Fest and two-day fiesta at Block Stadium.
