ANN ARBOR, Mich. – MidWest Financial Credit Union and UMHS Financial have partnered with Shred-It, a document shredding company, to host a shredding extravaganza. Designed to promote identity theft protection and conservation of the environment the event also helped raised funds for C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Shoes That Fit, a charity that provides new shoes for children. During the two-hour event, donations were requested in exchange for shredding services to be split equally between both charities. As another line of defense in the war against identity theft, staffers were also on hand to provide information about and live demonstrations of the credit union's online banking and e-statement services.
