WASHINGTON-The National Association of Community Credit Unions recently announced that Wisconsin Credit Union League Vice President of Operations Jim Drogue will participate in the group's community involvement workshop. Drogue will head up a panel of community involvement experts during NACCU's "Reaching the Modest Means Segment and Making an Impact in Your Community" workshop. CUNA Chief Economist Bill Hampel and Bear Paw Credit Union President/CEO Al Vukasin will also address the Oct. 23 workshop, which serves as a prelude to NACCU's Annual Conference in Boston. NACCU chose community involvement as its main focus this year because of the increasing number of community credit unions extending their outreach and seeking to further serve those of modest means. Highlights of the workshop include: * A statistical analysis of credit unions' involvement and impact with the underserved market, * A case study of the highly successful, award winning community outreach program between Bear Paw Credit Union and tribal members of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, and * An overview of successful programs and outreach ideas implemented by credit unions.
