PENSACOLA, Fla. – With its North branch re-opening, there’s plenty for Pen Air Federal Credit Union to celebrate. The facility, which is one of the credit union’s busiest branches, has been closed since Hurricane Ivan devastated the area on September 16, 2004. Located in the heart of what is known as “Car City,” the branch was severely damaged when the roof caved in. It took some 10 months later, but Pen Air FCU’s North branch re-opened for business with a Grand Re-Opening featuring a three-day car sale with a local dealer. Some improvements were made including a more private drive-thru area, more Member Service Representative zones, and better parking. “Seeing this office re-open and start serving members again has made the hard work and stress associated with the building project worth it all. Many of our members had to drive out of their way to other Pen Air offices for their financial needs. We certainly appreciate the patience everyone has shown these past months,” said Pen Air FCU President/CEO John Davis.
