LEAGUE CITY, Texas – For AMOCO Federal Credit Union home isn’t just where the heart is but also where its branches can be found. According to AMOCO FCU Chairman Rusty Norman, the centrally located branch slated to open March 2006 will be in the heart of some 1,500 new homes and several new local businesses. “The reality is that the credit union cannot hire another employee simply because we do not have the office space,” said AMOCO FCU President/CEO Shawn Bailey. “In addition, we have already outgrown our drive-through capacity, even though we have one of the largest drive-through facilities in the county.” The new 10,450 square-foot facility will not only include such retail features as an Internet caf, kids area, investment center, merchandising wall, six- lane drive through, ATMs and multimedia plasma screens but will also house a 20-person call center and 1,300 safety deposit boxes. According to design/build brand retailing firm NewGround President Kevin Blair, building a branch near where a large demographic of members live and shop could be optimal areas for new member growth. Further expansion also is planned for the Santa Fe/Hitchcock area to serve more than 5,000 members in the area by the end of 2006.
