VACAVILLE, Calif. – Travis Credit Union wants to make sure residents here have 43 nights of family fun at Travis Credit Union Park. Travis CU's season-long sponsorship with Collegiate League's Solano Thunderbirds began with the first pitch thrown by Travis CU Board Chairman Stuart McIntosh followed by former A's pitcher Dave Stewart. In addition, six former and current Solano Thunderbirds players were selected in the 2005 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. A pre-game ceremony took place featuring the Travis Air Force Base Honor Guard and the National Anthem was sung by recording artist, Holly Stell who at age 12 sang for the President and the First Lady twice at the White House and is currently on Andre Bocelli's latest album Andrea and will have her own CD released lat summer or early fall.Travis Credit Union mascot T-Bird also joined other community mascots for a "Battle of the Birds" competition.
