ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU is proceeding on toward a clean sweep of financial services leaders in the House for its 2005 Congressional Caucus slated for Sept. 18-21. NAFCU Director of Political Affairs Murray Chanow recently announced that House Financial Services Committee Chairman Mike Oxley (R-Ohio), Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee Ranking Member Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), and reg relief author Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) will be addressing the meeting. Texas' Hensarling has also expressed an interest in the credit union to mutual savings bank conversion matter. Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Barney Frank (D-Mass.), Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee Chairman Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.), and original CURIA co-sponsor Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.) accepted invitations previously to speak at NAFCU's Congressional Caucus. From the administration, Treasury Secretary John Snow, NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson, and NCUA Board Member Debbie Matz will take the stage.
