WASHINGTON-The Senate Banking Committee last week announced hearings for pending nominations. According to the committee Web site, members will be considering pending nominations in morning and afternoon sessions on July 26. A Senate Banking staffer said the committee would likely announce exactly which nominations will be considered by the end of the week. Rodney Hood, nominee to the NCUA Board, is one of the nominations awaiting committee action, but sources familiar with the process have said he is not likely to come up during this session of hearings. NAFCU Director of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler said the only nominee he was told that would definitely come up as of press time was Congressman Chris Cox (R-Calif.) for the Securities and Exchange Commission.
