NEW YORK – TANDBERG has introduced a new version of its personal visual-communications systems that connects far flung branches to live financial services experts. Branches represent prime locations for cross-selling products and services but often don’t have the staff to properly market them to customers and members, the company says. Its new solution, Real-time Advisor, uses video communication over Internet protocol networks to address that challenge. “When a customer leaves a bank branch without answers, that customer will look elsewhere,” says David Luff, director of industry marketing for TANDBERG (www.tandberg.net), which has dual headquarters in New York and Oslo, Norway. “But through the Real-time Advisor, banks can make sure the right financial expert is simply a video call away.” Australia’s New England Credit Union is using TANDBERG’s visual communications technology at 13 of its 20 branches around New South Wales. “Our remote branches without specialists for loans, wealth management, insurance or other services now can offer the same service virtually instantaneously,” says David Cook, the $340 million CU’s assistant general manager of operations. “Visual communication enables us to compete with Australia’s largest financial institutions.”
