America’s Christian Credit Union, Brea, Calif., has hosted a blood drive to benefit the American Red Cross. Some 28 participants rolled up their sleeves to give blood. Flyers for the event could be seen all over town, as staff drove around Brea distributing bundles of posters. Aproximately 81 people will benefit from the blood donated during the drive. Gwinnett Federal Credit Union, Lawrenceville, Ga., staffers helped give cancer “the boot” with their western theme at Gwinnett County’s Relay For Life fundraiser. The proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. During the overnight event, GFCU team members took turns selling popcorn, cotton candy and walking laps. This year more than $12,000 has been donated to the American Cancer Society. Rogue Federal Credit Union, Medford, Ore., some 25 staffers offered helping hands and four hours of volunteer time to paint the interiors of the Center for Non-Profit Legal Services, Ontrack, and the American Red Cross. In addition, over 45 employees volunteered their time for two different ACCESS projects. The first project, volunteers repacked over 4,000 pounds of rice granola and beans into 1-2 pound family sized packages; they also put together 230 senior food boxes each weighing 30-35 pounds each. In the second project, employees helped with the annual Letter Carriers Food Drive by helping sort over 34,500 pounds of food.
