DETROIT – Michigan First Credit Union has broken ground on a new three-story, 60,000 square-foot headquarters building to be located in Lathrup Village, Michigan. “With this groundbreaking, we are excited to help revitalize a corner of the thriving city of Lathrup Village,” said Michigan First CU President/CEO Michael D. Poulos. “Now that the small, aging strip mall has been removed, it is easier to imagine our incredible new building rising as the gateway into the city. We’re looking forward to being an active part of the Lathrup Village community.” Designed by architectural firm Victor Saroki & Associates and slated to be built by Ronnisch Construction Group, the facility will include a full service in-lobby branch with 12 drive-thru lanes, four drive-thru ATMs, and four state-of-the-art electronic banking centers. The lobby will also feature a 60-foot ceiling with exterior glass curtain walls allowing natural light to flood the interior. The lobby will also contain a custom built-in that will display the history and time line of Michigan First CU. In addition 4,200 square-feet of tenant space will be dedicated to a restaurant. The facility will also house a large community room, which will be made available to all members, the local community, and the public in general with the capacity to accommodate catering services.
